Research grants

The complex program of research grants of the "BASIS" Foundation is aimed at supporting active scientists who conduct theoretical research in the field of fundamental physics.

First of all, the program is aimed at supporting students, graduate students and young scientists who conduct research under the guidance of leading scientists working at the highest international level.

The program includes the following grant competitions:
Competition Aims Applicant requirements 
Leader 
  • Offer an opportunity for talented young scientists to pursue their research under the supervision of leading scientists, performing at the highest international level;
  • Contribute to the development of the existing research teams of the internationally competitive level as well as the emergence of the new ones.

Applicant: PhD or higher doctoral degree*; no less than 11 publications** in the last 7 years.

Within the competition the support can be granted to the research groups, consisting of the leading scientist and 2-4 young researchers (PhD degree, PhD-students, young researchers without PhD degree, and senior students).

Junior Leader 

The head of the group: not above 49 years old; PhD or higher doctoral degree*; no less than 8 publications ** in the last 5 years.

Within the competition the support can be granted to the research groups, consisting of the leading scientist and 1-3 young researchers (PhD-students, and senior students).

PostDoc 
  • Support talented young scientists with PhD degree;
  • Contribute to advancement of originality and scientific relevance of their research.  
Applicant: not above 35 years old; PhD or doctoral degree*; no less than 6 publications ** in the last 5 years.
Junior PostDoc  Applicant: not above 33 years old; PhD; no less than 3 publications ** in the last 4 years.
PhD student 
  • Support talented young young researchers without PhD degree;
  • Contribute to advancement of originality and scientific relevance of their research.
Applicant: not above 29 years old; Master degree or Diploma of Higher education*; at least 1 publication ** in the last 2 years.

 

* All degrees with specialization in theoretical physics and related fields

** Publications should be international journals with the impact factor above 1 or Russian journals with the impact factor above 0.75
